LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR
Karla Andress is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Mississippi (No. 2379), a national certified counselor (No.6450690) and a certified clinical trauma professional (No.292-26143). She earned her bachelor’s degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, and worked as a professional organizer before returning to school to get her master’s degree in marriage and family counseling from Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi.
Fascinated to experience the world through the eyes of another, she listens closely to understand the perspectives and needs of her clients to support them in exploring new thoughts, feelings and behaviors that can help them reach the goals they have set for themselves. She feels it is a profound privilege to facilitate growth and healing in others as they discover their own resilience through hardships and traumatic experiences.
Karla enjoys workin with clients experiencing depression and anxiety, trauma-related symptoms, adoption issues, hoarding behaviors and substance use. Her therapeutic approaches include Brainspotting, EMDR, Experiential Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodrama.
