Adult Trauma-Focused
Intensive Outpatient Program
The Trauma IOP is a 10-week program consisting of 9 hours a week of Group Therapy and 1 hour a week of Individual Therapy. For more information, contact our IOP Coordinator, Karla Andress, LPC-S
Group Therapy
Group Therapy shall consist of psychotherapy that takes place between a therapist and at least two (2), but no more than eight (8) adults. The format will utilize several therapeutic modalities to assist the individual with growth around four domains that trauma disrupts: Safety, Emotions, Loss, and Future.
Groups meet on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 9:00pm.
Therapy Models
Experiential Therapy
This evidence-based approach uses psychodrama, action methods, and interactive activities to engage participants beyond traditional talk therapy. Experiential techniques help clients become more present, increase emotional expression, and promote healing from the effects of trauma in a supportive group environment.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Developed by psychologist Richard Schwartz, Ph.D., IFS offers a visual and integrative process of self-discovery and internal healing. Through “parts work,” clients learn to understand and harmonize their internal system, addressing challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship difficulties through a compassionate, non-pathologizing lens.
Somatic Group Therapy
This body-centered, evidence-based approach focuses on the connection between the mind and body in the healing process. Participants learn grounding, mindfulness, and movement-based techniques to regulate the nervous system, release stored trauma, and increase a sense of safety and embodiment.
Psychoeducation and Skill Development in Community with others
This component provides information and tools and support addressing the impact of trauma on emotional, physical, and spiritual health. Topics include neurobiology, family systems, relationships, and coping patterns. Participants develop new skills for emotional regulation, healthy communication, and self-awareness while processing grief and loss in a safe, supportive setting.
